Superlight is the name of lightweight floorball sticks by OxDog. SUPERLIGHT shafts are made of premium carbon - HighPressure carbon. This premium carbon was able to reduce the weight of sticks by 12% and more. Nevertheless, their weight is around +/- 230 grams. However, their balance is excellent. SUPERLIGHT shafts give you the perfect balance.
You can find all the Oxdog technologies directly on the stick. There are pictures of the used technologies on the floorball stick. Here is the list of them:
- LC - Sticks with LC have a lightweight plug. The plug is smaller, thinner and lighter. Lighter plug = lighter stick. The plug is so small that you may feel like there is no one on the stick. This suits some players, but there are also those who need a bigger plug because it helps them better control their stick.
- Super light shaft - This is the designation of the weight category to which the stick belongs. OxDog uses 4 weight categories for its floorball sticks: Hyper light shaft, Ultra light shaft, Super light shaft and Light shaft. Super light shaft sticks are one of the lightest sticks by OxDog.
- CPB - CARBON POLYMER BLADE - Sticks with this designation are equipped with a carbon blade. More information about the carbon blade can be found below.
- Triad shaft - Triad shaft technology is a label for a special shaft profile. This is not a holding profile (ROUND, OVAL / SWEOVAL, D-OVAL), but the shape of the shaft between the blade and the grip. A triad shaft is a triangle-shaped shaft. This shaft shape makes your floorball stick more durable and offers you higher stick speed = sharper shots!
- Carbon T2000 - OxDog uses several types of carbon from T600 to T2500/HP2700. The T600 carbon is the heaviest carbon and the T2500/HP2700 carbon is the lightest one. The heavier sticks are more durable than those with low weight. The OxDog carbon stick has the following labels: "carbon T/HP + number indicating the quality of the carbon".
- Blow molded - Blow Molded is pressing floorball shafts by using air pressure. The material with the resin (the glue that holds the floorball stick together) is inserted into the mold and around the air bladder at the same time. The shaft mold is heated to the desired temperature. The air bladder begins to fill with air when this temperature is reached. This bladder pushes the material from the center of the mold to its edge. Any sticks shape (oval, round, hockey) can be made by this method. Floorball shafts made in this way have perfect balance and high strength.
- EVO resin is type of resin used for this sticks. OxDog uses 3 types of resin in its sticks: EVO resin, TRX resin and lightweight HES resin. EVO and TRX resins are synthetic resins. EVO resin is lighter, has a longer life and its weight is lower than TRX resin.
- Ultra fast is the category of your stick strength and speed. OxDog divides its shafts into 4 groups (Hyper, Ultra, Super and Medium fast). Floorball shafts Ultra fast have the great speed and thus transfer the most energy to your shots. So ultra fast stick is one of the fastest sticks!
- Tipshape - This technology hides the curvature of the stick at the bottom in the blade area by 1.5 degrees, so your shots are sharper. However, the prerequisite for playing with this technology is a 100% mastered technique of working with your floorball stick. Otherwise, this technology will make your game worse.
Handling shapes
There are several types of handling shapes, but there is no universal recommendation which shape is the best. It is just a subjective feeling. The OxDog handling shapes are:
- ROUND - This is a round handling shape. 90% of floorball sticks have this round handling shape.
- OVAL - This is an oval handling shape. This oval handling shape provides a firmer grip on the stick, but there is higher weight because of more material. This type of handling shape is suitable for players with larger palms.
- SWEOVAL - This is an oval profile. The name SWEOVAL stands for Swedish Oval. This Swedish oval differs from the classic oval by its size (SWEOVAL is less noticeable). Basically, we can say that the Swedish Oval is an intermediate between the classic round grip and the oval grip.
- D-OVAL This is a square handling shape with rounded corners. This grip is specific to OxDog sticks. The basic shape of the grip is oval, but the upper part is flattened by 5 mm, so the final shape is a square. However, compared to the HOCKEY handling shape (square profile ), the edges are rounded.
Oxdog Avox is a floorball blade developed for shooting! The Avox blade is one of the best-selling blades of the OxDog brand and we recommend it to all shooters, especially those who like to sweeper shoots.
The construction of the Avox blade is different from other OxDog blades, mainly due to the added oblique ribs. The blade therefore has horizontal, horizontal and oblique ribs. The heel is reinforced with both ribs and filled holes. This makes the heel very stable. This construction makes the Avox a highly torsionally rigid blade that holds its shape and transfers your energy to the shoots very well.
The Avox is the blade with the highest concavity of all the OxDog blades. Its concavity is 9.5mm. Such a recess ensures excellent ball control and an accurate shot by pulling. The cavity of the blade starts at the heel and leads obliquely to the tip of the blade. The tip of the blade is slightly bent inwards, but not downwards. This shaped tip improves the ball control at the tip of the blade.
The blade is significantly pre-bent with a slight rounding on the backhand side. This pre-bend begins in the last third of the blade and smoothly passes to the tip, which is pulled up and inwards. The tip of the blade does not form a classic hook, but rather continues with concavity. This results in excellent ball control.
Carbon plate
The blade contains a carbon plate. When you choose a floorball stick by OxDog, you may notice the letters MB/MBC or NB/NBC on Oxdog. These letters indicate the hardness of the blade (MB - medium Blade, NB - normal(soft) Blade). The letter C in the name indicates the embedded carbon plate in the blade. (MBC - medium Blade with Carbon, NBC - normal Blade with Carbon). The carbon plate should prevent the blade from twisting and make the blade more rigid. The blade is harder and therefore better transfers energy to your shoots = harder shoots! You can also find the designation MBC/NBC + number (2) on Oxdog floorball sticks. This is a classic blade with a carbon plate, just the number indicates the number of these plates.
OxDog Wrap GRIP
OxDog Wrap GRIP is a grip in which great emphasis was placed on its durability, especially in the most stressed parts so that this grip can withstand the maximum possible load and the speed of its wear was minimal. It holds perfectly in the hands, does not slip and wicks sweat away perfectly.
Key properties:
- standard long grip
- excellent anti-slip properties
- extra long life
- very pleasant grip with perforation for better sweat wicking
- vibration absorption
